Big D's Tepee BBQ started out 26 years ago in a rustic
frame building in Pocahontas, Mississippi with only outdoor seating at wooden tables. Dalton Westerburg
was known at Big D's for his hickory smoked barbecue and home baked
pies. Four years ago Conrad Martin bought Big D's BBQ. The former building was
remodeled and the monolithic dome in the
shape of a tepee was built for the restaurant. The "tepee" seats 83 people and has the
world's largest display of Indian Tribal Flags. You can take a virtual tour of
the tepee here, or you can come on by and see the tepee for yourself while enjoying some delicious barbecue.
Big D and Terry Vaughn are the managers of the restaurant and we invite you to bring the
children for a truly inspiring setting and some lip smackin' Mississippi barbecue. The scenery has changed but the food's the same.
